Job Description

The Backend Developer (Volunteer) will design, develop, and maintain the server-side components of MHI’s platforms, ensuring secure, efficient, and reliable operations. You will manage databases, build and integrate APIs, and work closely with frontend developers to deliver seamless user experiences. This role involves optimizing application performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring backend systems meet scalability and security requirements. You will collaborate with the cybersecurity team to protect sensitive data, maintain documentation for backend processes, and support the development of new features that align with MHI’s strategic goals.

Requirements

• Proficiency in backend languages and frameworks such as Node.js, PHP (Laravel), or Python.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases (MySQL, MongoDB).
• Understanding of RESTful API development and integration.
• Knowledge of backend performance optimization and scalability best practices.
• Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure and deployment processes.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Experience with version control systems like Git.
